not really, as you watch, it's clear that they have to bring her back.

Well, if you haven't seen a certain episode that I don't want to name because that would be a spoiler, then it is a pretty big spoiler.

Then this place if for people who have/do.
Rachel, spoilers indead. Perry and Chinua have only seen season 1. How would they know Rose returns? Or even why she leave? And no, it's not apparent that she has to come back, until you watch season 4. You didn't even know yourself until you found out on the internet.
Watch out for them spoilers. You forgot what they were since we have seen everything.
And what a vague question... Rose is amasing? My favorite companion of all time? Sad that she left and I cried? Can't say anything about her return as not to give stuff away to those who havn't seen it?

Re: Doctor Who
I'd have to say Martha was my favorite. She really was spectacular in the 2nd season finale. And it was amazing what that experience turned her into.

Re: Doctor Who
of the new seasons, i have to say that Astrid (if she can even qualify as a companion) is on the bottom. Martha is second on the list. Dona is in second place and Rose is at the top. if i told why this was my order, it would be spoilers for people who have not seen seasons 2-4
by the way, if you havn't seen Doctor Who, this isn't the thread for you

Re: Doctor Who
EDIT: This is actually Jennifer. I didn't realize Rachel was logged in here.
Meh, the avatars are ok.
As to why we hate Astrid... (Yes, this is a crazy long post. That's how much I dislike Astrid)
When the Doctor first met Rose, he didn't want to take her with him; he basically told her "I travel alone." However, she proved herself, proved that she was a powerful, trustworthy, and understanding companion who could take the stress of and enjoyed travel and adventure. Then Rose is gone.
So Martha comes. The Doctor didn't plan on taking her with him, but she does well on her own adventure, and the Doctor makes friends with her, so he takes her on one, only one, adventure. She proves herself and the Doctor gets to liking her more and more, so he takes her on another trip and another, until finally he decides that he'll allow her to become his companion. After a while, Martha decides she's done.
The Astrid comes along. She's a waiter on a space ship who the Doctor gets to talking to. He tells her that he travels along and prefers it that way. But when he asks her what she's doing on the space ship, she tells him "Oh, I've always wanted to travel." The Doctor brightens up. Doctor goes "Oh! You've always wanted to travel?" and gets all sappy and sympathetic. "Come with me! Come with me!" Astrid never proved herself, never had a chance to become even friends with the Doctor, and he's just so willing to take her along with him even though he wasn't with his other companions.
Then Astrid gets all attached to him even though she in turn hardly knows him. She doesn't want to be separated from him, and always worried about him, and kisses him even though again, she hardly knows him.
Then when Astrid dies, the Doctor gets all sobby and sappy and frantic to keep her alive. His sadness over this alien girl he hardly knows rivaled his grief when he lost Rose, the friend who knew him better than any other did, the one who knew his secrets and how he worked and felt.
The rest of the episode was horrible, too. It was over-dramatized and sappy all the way through. Near the end, the Doctor was portrayed as an awe-inspiring powerful and divine deity. Not to mention that the storyline was only mediocre. Over all, the one and only Doctor Who episode that I don't love, and on top of that, I think it's absoluetly terrible.
Obasi, as my dad said, you're young, and your a boy, thus less able to understand all the emotionals behind everything, but this could also explain the hatred of Rachel's and mine to anyone else as well.

Re: Doctor Who
I figured I would just revive this thread before it died.
Have I seriously no replies to the above post? Hmm? Anything?
Ah, well; I'll put up another discussion topic, and people can reply to the above if they want to. So here's my new topic: The Doctor's name. Yes indeed. I'm leaving that topic wiiiiide open for it anyone wants to say anything. Think it exists? Think it doesn't? If you think it does, what have you to say or discuss about that?
I've got myself a couple of ideas and concepts, but I want to see what you guys have to say first.

Re: Doctor Who
i don't know if we sill ever find out about the Doctor's name. but, as to the prediction made in "fires of Pompeii",as to the name being written in the Medusa Cascade, that prophesy was fulfilled in the season finale. i don't want to say too much for fear of being spoilerish. i do want to say for those who have seen the episode that i don't think that his mom would name him the destroyer of worlds. i think that the Doctor's name is something Galifrean. maybe someday we will learn the Doctor's name, maybe not. i sure hope we do though. Maybe during the Doctor's last regeneration.

Re: Doctor Who
I do have a comment to the post about Astrid. I'm not saying that things weren't too quick with Astrid, but the Doctor has been getting less and less secretive. When he met Rose, he wouldn't even say that he was a Time Lord. But now, he'll stride into a room saying "I am a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey... "(not a quote) and so on, just to get attention.
So, I believe, in about fifty Companions or so, he'll probably just bring along anyone who catches his eye.
