Does it actually fly? I just always pictured it more of teleporting.

I only described it as "an awsome flying machine" because Mary did, and she did because we were talking about jetpacks... which fly.

But you're right, it doesn't *really* fly, not usually at least. There are some occasions when it is necessary to fly it. There's once (you havn't gotten to this yet) where he is trying to save someone out of a car, so he is flying along beside it on the highway, but everything is poping and sparking. Afterwards, they have to sit it down and leave it alone for a while, and the Doctor comments "For a spaceship she doesn't really do a lot of flying."

But ya, it flies.
